Smart Growth & Housing for All
Addison Winslow, District 4
Even a place as beautiful as Chico can't afford to price out the working class. Rents are too high. Our public infrastructure is projected to deteriorate, yet public works and construction workers can't even afford to live here.
Chico has a General Plan calling for more walkable communities, housing for everybody, and for Chico to become "the Green City of the North State." But for over a decade our city has gone backwards.
Let’s bring affordable housing back to our downtown and grocery stores back to our neighborhoods. Let’s stop creating place-less subdivisions and start building up neighborhoods to be proud of — with safe, accessible, and lively streets, security for renters, abundant affordable housing, and inclusive communities.
